iPhone App Graphics and Animation
This post describes graphics and animation work created for a native iPhone app developed for Splash Coupons, a company offering home improvement discounts in the North Dallas, Texas region. The app is no longer available on the App Store.

Project Details
The primary deliverable was an 18-frame looping animation sequence designed to engage users during the app's XML data download process from a server, which typically lasted a couple of seconds.
I wanted to display a visually interesting animation, so out came the storyboard and a new After Effects project was born.
Animation Concept and Execution
The animation conceptually depicted coupons moving into an iPhone. The After Effects production incorporated:
- Coupon image assets animated along paths flowing toward a central pulsing iPhone
- An AJAX-style loading cursor on the phone's screen
- Two layers of particle effects with glow blending
- Time-reversed particle composition to direct particles inward toward the device
- Pulsing concentric circles with colored center glow
- "Droplet" logo elements radiating outward from the phone
The design palette drew from the official Splash Coupons brand guidelines. The final animation was memory-efficient and contained minimal file size within the app package.
